We address Gender Equality

In 2017 and 2018 for the second year in a row, Li & Fung (Fung Group) ranked among the top 200 global companies on the Equileap list and the only company in Hong Kong to be on this list. Equileap’s 2019 Gender Equality Special Report has ranked Li & Fung Hong Kong’s #1 for commitment to gender equality!

Over the many years, we have been members of The Women’s Foundation and the Men’s Ally group. In 2019, as part of our International Women’s Day conference, we hosted the round table event focused on different aspects of Gender Equality. This was following a series of volunteering activities, including Women’s Empowerment Group events in partnership with Christian Action, a Running with Refugees activity in partnership with RUN, and a Balance for Better event in partnership with The Explorium, in which student participated of Girls Go Tech was invited, a Women’s Foundation initiative.

We support LGBT+ community

Over the past three years and continuing, the Fung Group actively participates in external events such as Out & Equal Forum Shanghai, Mercer Round Table, Pride & Prejudice Hong Kong annual event by The Economist, Pride in Fashion etc.

Fung Group has introduced LGBT+ Inclusion in our Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Shanghai offices, hosting workshops and presentations partnering with external organizations. The LGBT+ Inclusion workshops continue on a local level, educating and bringing awareness to our employees about the topic and legal ramifications.

We spread the awareness

Formed in 2017, over 30 Global I&D Ambassadors has come together to communicate and diligently advance our journey and build our practices of Inclusion & Diversity.

We renewed the Global Anti-Harassment & Anti-Discrimination Policy with training for Human Resources teams and compulsory e-learning modules for all managers and employees.

We continue our journey of interactive educating and awareness for our employees with ongoing monthly articles on our intranet, I&D snippets, Unconscious Bias Workshop, I&D events such as “How do you see the world” photo challenge, “#showyourrainbow”  Pride Month celebration etc.
